When my sister first saw Macey, CH Redwitch Reason To Believe, she said “It’s a fairy tale, I know, but Macey should be bred to Georgie, the puppies would be breathtaking.” My sister wasn’t a dog breeder but she loved the dogs, dog shows and most of all dog show people…. and she believed in fairy tales. Macey went on to become the number 1 show Akita in American history, a record still unequaled. And one day, when her show campaign was over, the fairy tale actually happened and Macey was bred to Georgie.
Apollo was our pick from the beginning and we have been content to wait for him to develop into the stunning youngster we were anticipating. We co-own him with one of
his breeders and his handler, Laurie Jordan-Fenner and their first few times in the show ring together have been amazing! Apollo is still very much a baby and far from the mature adult we can see beginning to unfold but already he is half way to his championship with
a BOB from the classes and a group placement to give him his first major. Big doings for a young guy!
Aside from the promising start to his show career, this is a young dog we can see being able to fill his father’s rather large foot prints. With a lovely head, beautiful balance, stunning size and bone for such a young dog, he put this together with an amazing temperament combining confidence, sweetness and a big dose of silliness. He is one of the most kind and willing Akitas we’ve had in many, many years. We are looking forward to adding him to our breeding program as yet another generation of lovely natured Minda dogs.
