Topaz came to us from her breeder, our good friend and partner Barbara Sikkink, who is also
her co-owner. She is from the lovely, tight breeding between O’Henry and his aunt Dusa. The
type in this litter was amazing and the top three girls are all AKC pointed including Topaz. We
showed Topaz at the 2018 Akita Club of America National Specialty week and we were quite
pleased with her 3rd place in the large Open Class at both the PreNationals and the Nationals
patiently handled by the talented Paul Levesque. This was only her second show ever and she
got better and better each time she went in the ring. Her show career will begin again after her
pause for motherhood.
Topaz is a big strong girl with a stunning headpiece, excellent bone, beautiful feet, plenty of
angles and easy, extremely sound breathtaking movement. She literally floats when she trots
around the pasture. She is our girl who is all about adventure and play. A serious bug hunter,
she loves games of chase, ball, westling, tug-o-war, hide and seek or anything you can come up
with…..she’s up for any fun especially if you add in a grasshopper or two! Above all the joy she
gets in games, she has ten times as much fun loving on people. Sweet, silly, gloriously happy,
she wags her whole rear with every new friend she meets and, for Topaz, everyone is a friend.
We have a very exciting breeding planned for her first time in the summer of 2019 when she will
be bred to to stunning CH Minda Mayoke The Indomitable Snowman aka Yeti..
